| Why Handcrafted Soap |
 |
| Long winters dry our skin causing irritation and premature
ageing. Natural soaps average 35% moisture compared with 5% in commercial
products. |
Our traditional process ensures that one third of the oil is
converted into natural glycerin, a deep, soothing moisturizer.
All Opeongo Soaps are handmade and handcut.
Our focus is on quality and purity not volume or mass marketing. |

| Our Ingredients |
 |
 |
We use either 35% Fresh Goat's Milk or Rainwater for less minerals
in the soaps.
Basic ingredients for all soaps are 100% vegetable shortening
(soya or canola oil) sodium hydroxide (for a cold process soap)
olive oil, canola oil, castor oil.
All ingredients are now listed on each soap in Latin according
to the government's new INCI labelling standard. We list ingredient
English names in a bracket. |

|
Herbs and spices
Many of our soaps are blended with herbs and/or spices to colour
the soap naturally or give a lovely aroma - cinnamon, for example.
Essential Oils
Essential oils are pure plant oils. Our essential oils are high
quality, pure and undiluted.
We recommend the Encyclopedia of Essential Oils
by Julia Lawless for more complete information.
Fragrance Oils
Fragrance oils are cosmetic grade and have been formulated for
use in all types of soaps.

| Getting the most out of your handcrafted soap |
 |
| Handcrafted soaps generally last longer than commercial varieties. The
harder it is the longer it will last and the better it will lather. For
this reason do not store your soap in plastic bags or airtight containers.
Soap should be stored in the open, in a paper bag or on the shelf with
your towels ( it will make them smell nice too! ). |
